Altar & Rosary Society

The Altar & Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Terre Coupe, New Carlisle was organized on July 15, 1885.  The primary purpose of this society is to promote the personal satisfaction of members, through means offered by confraternity of the Holy Rosary, secondary purpose is to care for the altar and sanctuary and to participate in parish activities.  Our Altar & Rosary Society meets from September thru May (excluding January) on the First Sunday of the month, after the 10:00 a.m. Mass.  Some of their fundraisers include their Annual Card Party held in the spring, Rummage Sale held in the summer, Bake Sales, and a Chicken Dinner.  Throughout our history the Altar & Rosary Society has always played a very important part in our parish.  We urge and welcome all women of  our parish to come to a meeting and become a part of this Society.  

Ushers Club

St. Stanisluas Ushers Club was organized the summer of 1949 with seven members.  The object of this Club is to render better service to our Church and people by developing, coordinating and systemizing the manner of conducting same in the Church, and collecting offerings during Mass and other functions subject to the approval of the pastor.  In addition to assisting at the liturgies, the ushers have given assistance at various parish functions, they sponsor a Valentine Dance, the Men's BB-Q, Santa's Breakfast, and a Mother Daughter Breakfast.  Providing funds througout the years to improve the parish grounds and buildings.  Meetings are held the first Sunday of October, December, January, February, and March after the 8:00 a.m. Mass.  We urge all men of our parish to come to a meeting and join this organization.  

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an apostolic organization started by Frank Duff in September 1921 in Dublin Ireland.  Since then it has spread throught the world with millions of active and many more auxilary (praying)  members.  Members meet together once a week for prayer, planning and discussion in a family setting; they do a couple of hours of definite work each week in pairs and under the guidance of a spiritual director.  Work includes; visiting parishioners in hospitals/nursing homes, youth work and other spiritual needs to the parish community.  Every year the Legion of Mary has staffed a Catholic Informaton Booth at the St. Joseph Co. Eucharistic Adoration

The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who come for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.  Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Confessions during adoration 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with Holy Hour: Rosary Benediction at 7:00 p.m.

Stations of the Cross

Each week, on  Friday evenings during Lent at 7:00 p.m.  we are lead the clelebration of the devotional prayer, which reminds us of the journey of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord (the paschal mystery).

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group is assigned 2 months during the year to count on Sunday mornings.  If you would like to help call the parish office. 

 

Eucharistic Minister

Two distinct ministries fall under this title of ministry.  There are persons who respond to Christ's call to distribute the Body and Blood of the Lord at Mass.  After training, they receive the commission from the sisters and brothers of the parish for this ministry.  There are also those, who have an affinity for service to the sick or elderly of our parish, and desire visit and bring Communion to those who cannot come to Mass on a regular basis each week.  These Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion are trained in the ministry to the sick and homebound (this includes those in nursing homes, and shut-ins within our parish boundries).  If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic minister please contact Father Bob or the parish office.  

Lector

Reader who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.  If you would like to be a reader for Mass please contact Judy Cravalho or the parish office.

Rosary

The Rosary is prayed Tuesday thru Friday at 7:30 a.m. before the 8:00 a.m.Mass.

Prayer Line

There is power in prayer and strength in numbers!  Our prayer line (a wonderful group of parishioners) offers daily prayers for you, your loved ones or friends who are need of prayer for whatever reason - anxiety, illness, surgery, unemployment, despair etc.  If you have a prayer request contact the parish office (Diane) 574-654-3781, or submit your request in the "Prayer Request Box" located in the vestibule of the church.  Anyone interested in joining our prayer line call the parish office.

St. Stan's Rosary Makers

 Join our Rosary Makers and learn to bead and knot rosaries (supplies are provided).  Our Rosary Makers have been together 10 years and have completed over 35,000 rosaries that have been distrubuted not only locally but throughtout the world.  This apostolate helps us to our ignore pain, and overcome our loneliness of aging... We serve Him by serving one of the simple needs of others, the joy that results in one who receives such a simple yet beautiful gift is often overwhelming.  For more information call Richard 574-288-7857.

RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation – If you are 18 years or older and have not received one or any of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation), we invite you to consider enrolling in RCIA.  Through this process, we will prepare you to receive the Sacraments of Initiation and come into full communion with the Catholic Church.  For more information call the Parish Office 574-654-3781.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Music Ministry

Join together in song, under the talented direction of our choir director.  Everyone is welcome to join our choir, by contacting Dan VanOvergerghe, or just come up to the choir loft before Mass and join in.  We welcome all children to sing during our special Christmas Mass (4 p.m.)

Altar Server

Boys and girls who assist the priest at the liturgy.

Finance Council  As required by Canon Law, each parish must establish a Parish Finance Council to advise the pastor on financial concerns of the parish. The Finance Council reviews the financial statements of the parish and helps in the preparation of the yearly budget. 

Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council is a very important advisory body for our parish, and they gave given our pastors solid advice over many years. Pastors need their advice and direction in making critical decisions for the future of our parish.
